The DeLeon Shores Park conceptual plan features permanent bathrooms, shade trees, pickleball, new skateboard area, seating, walkway, bigger dog park and more!
June 13 – St. John's County Purchasing Department posted a bid for Deleon Shores Park Improvements. The project budget was more than $1.9 million. The project design was aligned with preliminary drawings shared with Dolphin Cove Community Association.
July 9 – Six bids were received. All bids were over budget. Each bid included “bid alternates” to delete specific aspects of the project design such as the skate park or picnic pavilion.
July 21 – St. John’s County rejected all bids received.
August 19 – St. John’s County Public Works Department worked with the design consultant to update the project design plans.
September 5 – St. John’s County Public Works is reviewing the revised park plans to ensure “all scope elements have been appropriately captured.”
October 7 – St. John's County posted a new bid for Deleon Shores Park Improvements.
November 12 – Bids are due on the Deleon Shores Park Improvements.
December 2 - St. John's County issued a notice to award the contract to complete the park improvement project to K&G Construction, Inc.
December 16 - St. John's Board of County Commissioners approved the award of the contract to complete the DeLeon Shores Park Improvement project to K&G Construction, Inc.
January/February 2026 - St. John's County will issue a notice to proceed with the contract, a construction schedule will be developed, and public notices will be issued to communicate park closure dates during construction.
February 27, 2026 - St. Johns County kicked off the $1.9 million DeLeon Shores Park renovation with a groundbreaking ceremony. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to commemorate the event.
March 1, 2026 - The Park will be closed for approximately 8 months during renovation.
